Dear Parents,

Welcome to the St. Patrick School community. We trust that your association with the school will be both happy and rewarding.

The time your child will spend in primary education is a most significant period in your child's life and in the life of your family.

Catholic education looks at the whole person. For children, education primarily occurs in the home. This is particularly true of the spiritual growth of your child. The Catholic school, as part of the parish, supports and complements the family in this development. Therefore, the full benefit of the Catholic school occurs when you enable the school, the family and parish to work in harmony to create a true environment for faith development.

The school works closely with the parents and the parish in the practical carrying out of this harmony. You will notice that the school is only one side of a triangle, not the whole triangle. Indeed, as we have said, the Catholic school forms part of the parish community, and therefore your child's enrollment implies your active participation and belonging to this community.  We understand that the majority of our students are of the Roman Catholic faith but our school welcomes those students of all faiths into our community.

We recognize that parents make an important contribution to the education of their children and welcome their active involvement and participation in the life of the school and the educational programs offered.

The staff of St. Patrick’s will work in partnership with you in nurturing your child's development. We will guide, support and assist your child in every possible way and take a genuine interest in your child's welfare.

St. Patrick’s offers a three and four year old preschool program and half and full day kindergarten in addition to our grade 1 through 8 classes.  We also offer a before and after school child care program for those parents needing early drop off or a late pickup.

It is critical that you develop a sense of trust and belonging with your school and display an open support for it. Evidence suggests that whenever parents are actively involved in their children's education, educational outcomes are maximized.

Yours sincerely,

Stanley Mozina
