We attempt to provide a safe, pleasant, disciplined atmosphere for the students in the school.  We must be sufficiently structured to provide the environment in which learning can take place.

We expect parents, students and teachers alike to give 100% in providing this atmosphere of learning by exhibiting respect for oneself, others and property.

We build on the principle that each student deserves to be loved and is an important person in the class or group in school.  It is an established fact that children want to become responsible.  However, they will not accept disciple and learn proper behavior unless we care enough to show them the responsible way of behaving.  Therefore, it is the task of each teacher to help students arrive at the point where they are responsible for their behavior.

It then becomes the responsibility of the teacher to establish in her classroom the premise that each student in that room is a very important part of the class and group, accountable for his/her actions and only then entitled to be involved in the activities of the class.

In addition, each child needs to understand behavior within the group.  When a child persists with unacceptable behavior, he/she must understand that certain disciplinary measures must be taken.

Acceptable means of settling behavior are:  reprimand, loss of privileges, parents notification, teacher/parent conference, after-school detention, and in-school suspension.  Extreme disciplinary problems are referred to the principal.  Only the principal can suspend or expel a student.  Behavior is categorized as a major or minor in-fraction.

In addition to classroom rules there are playground rules and bus policies.  Riding the bus is a privilege.  Improper conduct on the bus will result in the privilege being denied.  Major disturbances will be dealt with in the following manner.  First offense:  A warning will be given to the students and the parents will be notified.  Second offense:  Suspended from riding any school bus for the period of a day.  Third offense:  Suspended from riding any school bus for a period of three days.

The Public School District reserves the right to refuse transportation to any student whose conduct is in any way disruptive or endangers the proper operation of the bus.

Parents who have any questions regarding transportation should contact their appropriate school district.

All students must ride the assigned bus unless written authorization is given to ride another bus within your specified district.  Permission to ride a bus of another school district cannot be given.
